MOPS

Who are MOPS?

Mothers are loving, giving and on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You take excellent care of your family, but who takes care of YOU? Where do you find time to relax, unwind and recharge? The answer is MOPS, a ministry whose purpose is to nurture you, a mom! Whether you are in the midst of your first pregnancy and are unsure of what to expect, or you are wrangling toddlers day in and day out, or you have only one more year before your youngest starts kindergarten, MOPS has something in store for you; MOPS is for all mothers of preschool age children from birth to 5 years. It is a place where moms have the opportunity to make new friends, share experiences, learn, laugh, ask questions and learn biblical principles pertaining to womanhood, marriage and parenting. It is dedicated to the message that “Mothering Matters!” and "you are not alone!"

MOPS at Denver UMC?

Our ministry is rapidly growing and supporting mothers with children ages 0-5. Our group meets once a month on Friday mornings from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. We provide the MOPS KIDS program for children ages 0-5 that takes place in the Family Life Center (FLC). Please contact us at b3heydeschutter@gmail.com if you have school-age children needing care. All meetings occur in the CORC building (the standalone building to the right of the church).

What to expect at MOPS?

Each meeting begins by dropping off your precious little ones at MOPS KIDS childcare located in the Family Life Center (FLC) within the DUMC Sunday school classrooms. The following 3 hours you will enjoy uninterrupted time for brunch, conversation, devotions, mom topics and learning new ways to grow as a mom. Our meetings are designed to equip moms with practical ways to make mothering more effective and our goal is to always point moms back to Christ. MOPS offers the support and encouragement that moms today need to help them center their hearts and homes around Christ. We want moms to walk away refreshed and feeling more confident in herself in all of her daily roles. We know that “mothering matters” and “better moms make a better world.”

Who are MOPS KIDS?

Your children (ages 0-5) are being cared for in a loving environment called MOPS KIDS. Children are divided into age-appropriate groups and are involved in planned activities such as stories, crafts, music, and play. Our MOPS KIDS staff consists of volunteers from Denver UMC & our community and are dedicated to providing a safe, loving and nurturing environment for our precious MOPS KIDS.
