WORSHIP & SERVICE TIMES
We believe in one savior, Jesus Christ and that salvation is obtained only by believing in his life, death, and resurrection. We believe all are given a gift of salvation by Christ but few have opened the gift. We at Denver UMC want to help you find, understand, and claim the gift of eternal life given by Jesus Christ. Once you begin to walk with the Lord, we want to help you along that journey.
Denver United Methodist Church is a growing church with a rich history. Established in 1884, our church family is a diverse congregation. One-third of our weekly attendance consists of children and youth under the age of 18. We celebrate our traditions and rejoice in our vibrant daily walk.
On Sundays, you can expect a friendly welcome, a choice of worship styles, and relevant discipleship. We gather collectively as a church to love Christ through worship, learn of Christ through discipleship, and serve Christ through outreach. Come join us and become part of the family at Denver UMC.
Worship is one important way we show our love and commitment to Christ as a body of believers. We offer three distinct worship experiences in our sanctuary each week, and you are free to visit any or all of them to determine where you feel at home. The sermon message is on the same topic each service. The Sunday morning services are:
- 8:15 a.m. - Traditional. Held in the Sanctuary, this service has communion the first Sunday of each month. A choir sings during this service and the worship feel is traditional.
- 9:30 a.m. - Contemporary. Held in the Family Life Center gym, this service is plugged in for worship. Music is led by our praise and worship leader, complete with guitars, drums, and keyboard. The lights are dimmed and the atmosphere is relaxed.
- 10:30 a.m. - Blended (CHANGING TO 10:45 a.m. BEGINNING JUNE 4, 2017) . Held in the Sanctuary, this service contains music from our choir, worship band, and/or solos. Being a blended service, the feel is between a truly traditional and contemporary service.
What to wear? Our church is truly a plethora of styles, but dressy casual is the norm. Youth are usually worshiping in jeans, along with some adults. Most guys wear pants and collared shirts. Women wear pants with casual tops, smocks with leggings and boots, etc. In other words, we don't care what you wear...just that you are there!
